<\/p>\r\nHSE (GED) prep classes are offered free of charge in English and Spanish. These classes enable the student to cover the material necessary for them to take their HSE exam and obtain their diploma.\u00a0 Classes are offered in six-week blocks and cover the five sections of the HSE test. Instruction is provided through a head teacher and small group of leaders\/tutors.\u00a0 The number of blocks needed to be ready for the HSE exam depends on the student’s prior education. Individuals interested in taking the HSE prep classes should call 856-455-2509 to express their interest.<\/p>\n
Individuals who take the prep classes in Spanish will also be able to take their HSE exam in Spanish at Rowan College of South Jersey – Cumberland (the college charges for the test and that cost is the student’s responsibility).\u00a0 Proper identification is needed to take the test.\u00a0 Should you have questions about proper identification, call Unidos at 856-455-2509.<\/p>\n
Unidos works with individuals to pass their test, helping students find opportunities once they have passed. Unidos will help provide job coaching for finding better employment or job promotions as a result of the student obtaining their diploma. We will also work with individuals to prepare for college should that be their next life goal.<\/p>\n
In addition to working with the student, we provide the entire family access to family advocates who provide coaching in all aspects of life, including finances, health and wellness, parenting, educational advocacy and relationships.<\/p>\n
